Collecting for a College: Gifts from David P. Becker
By Marjorie B. Cohn.
For two and one-half years following his graduation from Bowdoin in 1970, David P. Becker worked at the museum as curatorial assistant and registrar. Through the 1990s, Becker added to the paintings, prints, drawings and photographs at the museum, carefully choosing works that would complement the existing collections. His familiarity with Bowdoin’s holdings, and the growth of his knowledge as a curator of prints, illustrated books, and drawings has made him an exceptionally thoughtful donor.
