How Peary Reached the Pole

In 1934, on the 25th anniversary of Robert E. Peary's 1908-09 North Pole Expedition, Donald B. MacMillan published How Peary Reached the Pole, his account of that historic expedition.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the expedition, the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum and Arctic Studies Center, Bowdoin College and McGill-Queens University Press have reissued this fascinating, accessible book in an expanded edition. The new edition includes a biography of MacMillan and overview of the expedition, written by the Arctic Museum staff, and 11 color images taken on the expedition .
