The Bowdoin Store strives to reduce its carbon footprint in its choice of vendors and the purchase of recycled products.

The Bowdoin Store commits to the following eco-friendly practices:

  • Re-uses packing materials and boxes
  • Uses 100% recyclable, environmentally-friendly shopping bags
  • “Do You Need a Bag?” and “Bring Your Own Bag” shopping bag conservation programs
The Bowdoin Store offers a variety of high quality sustainable goods:
  • Reusable travel mugs, water bottles, and drinking straws
  • Sustainably-sourced bamboo gifts
  • Organic/recycled/sustainably-sourced clothing and accessories in our product mix
  • Socially conscious gift collections
  • Recycled stationery items
  • Recycled spiral-bound notebooks, 3-ring binders, index cards, composition books, and folders
  • Re-usable canvas tote bags
  • Recycled/local greeting cards
  • Sketch pads in assorted sizes made with premium recycled paper
  • Imprinted planners from House of Doolittle made of 100% recycled paper, printed with soy inks
  • Diploma frames made from 100% recycled wood
  • Many of our products are locally or USA-made, reducing our carbon footprint
