Nick Fleck is a retired high school teacher. He spends much of his time sauntering in the open spaces and woods wherever he lives, and especially in unsettled areas on Moosehead Lake in Maine. He has been influenced by the words and wandering of Thoreau and feels that he is not apart from the flora and fauna of our planet, but rather a part of it.
